More Books :)

It's here! - The Circle of Trust
In this beautiful new book, Herr Zettl discusses those who have a critical influence on the welfare of horses and the future of the sport of dressage. That group includes the breeder, the owner and sponsor, the rider, the trainer and/or instructor, the stable manager and groom, the show committee; and the judge

Dressage In Harmony
Although the author does not directly address the beginner rider, there is much to be gleaned for beginners in this book. Good habits are best started early. For those with more experience, Zettl's explanations of the different movement and training principles are insightful. This book also functions as a handy reference book for rider's and trainers seeking to review a movement or understand what it is that is blocking them, or their horse, from achieving it One of Seattle's basic premises is that you should give the horse enough freedom with each exercise so that the horse can learn to do it almost by himself. "The rider is, of course, always ready with his aids to help and control," he adds. Zettl's philosophy is based on his understanding of the nature of horses and the nature of people. "Every day the rider must find the partnership again with his horse. We cannot take his trust and willingness for granted." Hunter-jumper riders or riders from other disciplines would also find this book to be of benefit in their riding and schooling. Highly regarded in Europe, Walter Zettl was trained in Germany under the famous Col. Aust and has over 40 years of instructional experience in Germany. He came to Canada in 1981 and served as dressage coach for the Canadian Three-day event team for the Los Angeles Olympic Games. (T.B.)
