May I Proudly Pronounce...

1 day clinic with our new 1* instructor Sofie Svenson at our stable on the 7th of May.
Attendees: 8 people from our stable + Ulrika from http://dramahastar.blogspot.com
Sofie is giving us that day free lessons and I think it´s going to be really interesting cause the only persons really doing Parelli is Ulrika and me, 3 people are doing Parelli a little bit or at least kind of know what it is about, and the other 4 people are competition riders and have never done it before.
Malin, the stable owner is going to join us with Mandrake which should be very interesting. I´m very much looking forward to see them playing together!
I have to say I was very surprised that so many people showed interest. I was pretty certain that all people from the turnout stable would join but for the rest - wow!
I put up a pinboard yesterday in the turnout stable with Parelli´s principles, the core values, 8 responsibilites, 10 qualities of a horseman, 7 keys to success and Milva and my match report.
Today people started to ask tons of questions but I told them to wait for Sofie cause she can explain it better.
I think I sparked some interest anyway. "taping myself on the shoulder, well done Marion" ;)

Equine Touch Demonstration

Around 20 people attended the ET demonstration today and I think it was a real success. Before the demonstration we had brunch and afterwards Carola explained a little bit what ET is and how it works. Then we all went to the riding arena were a patient Sarah was waiting with Claudius. Carola worked on Claudius while explaining to us what she was doing and you could see how more relaxed Claudius became. After the demonstration we all went back to the garden again and Carola demonstrated on us how ET works.
There was some talk about having the ET course in june at our place which would be wonderful for me!
One of the highlights today though was meeting Ulrika irl, what a fun and sparkling person! Can´t wait for the next time.
Hm, I would like to upload some of the pictures but unfortunately I still haven´t figure out how the Mac works and he doesn´t seem to be very cooperative either. So no pictures tonight then. Maybe tomorrow...if I can figure it out be then...

Happy Easter Everyone - Glad Påsk!

What a busy weekend. Tomorrow we are going to have the Equine Touch demonstration at our stable and brunch before that. I spent the whole weekend with cleaning up around our turnout stable and driving everyone around me nuts. Sorry guys, I just want everything to be perfect ;).
I also rode Milva pony yesterday. Keeping Larissa´s session in mind I was watching out for every little braze. Milva switched a little bit with her tail when I first started to mount her so I retreated and approached again. After a while she started to yawn and chew a lot - how interesting!! After she stopped yawning and chewing - it took quit a while, I mounted her. She waited for me to ask her to walk and then I rode her for 10minutes. It was going really well and it seems to be that I got my confidence back again as well. Take the time it takes....
I still don´t use my legs though and rarely the reins. For walking I click my tongue and for stopping I use the ssss-sound and for turning I turn my upper body. So far so good. She is reacting on the slightest little change in my body and when I get a little bit out of balance she pinches her ears back. Hm how interesting....better stay in balance then.
Ulrike from dramahästar is flying down on her witch broom tomorrow to watch the demonstration. It´s going to be super fun to finally meet her irl.
The rest of the weekend I tried to figure out how my new MacPro is working. It sure is fancy just I have no clue how to use it. It´s a little bit like buying a Ferrari to drive to the cornershop to get milk.

How To Train Your Dragon Milva

We watched that movie last week and I LOVED it! Well, the movie is called "How to train your dragon", but I guess you figured that one out anyway.
I went to the stable twice today. In the morning I played liberty and online and then I went back in the evening to film a few things with Shawn. I know now what I have to improve ;). Some things are good and some are not so good.
I still will post some of them though.

that´s how Milva greeted me after I was away for 4 days in the UK

Monday Play

70min online, 10min liberty
Giving Milva lots of time to think today and she yawned and chewed a lot. How interesting. An important thing I learned at the Celebration was that I´m still too fast my little lbi. Milva stood along time with me and kept yawning and chewing and licking me and after a while she put her head to my belly, she used to do that when we got her. So I gave her all the time she needed and when I got the feeling she was done processing I asked her softly softly softly to back up and send her softly softly on a circle. And see there, off she went with her ear forwards and a soft expression on her face. I quit on that note.
I finished filling out the Humanality & Match raport and read a little bit in it. Wow! Of course my Humanality is a lbi as well, but I knew that in forehand. It´s still very interesting to read about it and the Match raport was just mindblowing!

The Happiness Project written by Gretchen Rubin

http://www.happiness-project.com
I just finished reading this brilliant book right now. I found out about it when I looked at Chapter´s top 10 list. Chapter´s is huge Bookstore chain in Canada where you also can order books online. I found alot of really good books there.
Anyway, this book is very informative, has alot of good tips you can use in your daily life and Gretchens has done alot of reseach for it. I got tons of information out of it and lots of good tips for other books.
It definitely made it in my personal top 10 list!
Elisabeth - it´s worth buying it and to do read Gretchens blog and to sign up for her newsletter ;).

This Week Update!

Time is just flying by right now and I don´t know where the days go.
I played mostly at liberty with Milva. Spin is her most favourite thing to do right now and I just need to raise my right arm and draw a circle in the air and she spins. It´s super fun! She is such a smart little pony!
On Tuesday my vet/ferrier Helene was here to trim her hooves. She complimented again on Milva´s hoof quality :). I gave Helene Parelli´s Celebratin dvd for Christmas and I think she got interested in Parelli now ;). She asked alot of questions about the Celebration weekend and then she asked about Milva´s Horsenality!! AWESOME I thought! So I told her a bit about Horsenality and Humanality and we had a pretty good positive discussion going on. We agreed on lots of things and also discussed the horse industries and how people wanna have quick fixes with their horses. After Milva was done she followed me out to the turnout stable to vaccinate Orkan and she asked about his Horsenality and also about Paulina´s and Tinker´s.
Imagine to have a veteriner/ferrier who shows interest in Parelli - it´s like a dream coming true!!
Parelli is snowballing around me right now but the next thing that happened deserves his own blogpost ;). More to come....

Finale At The Celebration

One of the many highlights at the Celebration was the finale. We got to see some of the spotlights, like Silke Valentine´s which was just truly inspiring and Mikey Wanzenried´s of course. To watch those amazing instructor´s live is a real treat.
At the end all of us volonteers and the instructors and mm got to ran into the arena for the last good bye. It was really fun, even for me as an introvert.

Back From Volonteering

Volonteering was so much fun. I enjoyed every second of it and I´m looking forward to next years volonteering. It was long days though and we didn´t get to see much of the show but it was still well worth it. It´s very uplifting to work in a positive, progressive environment were everyone knows what you are talking about.
On Friday we had our first volonteermeeting at 8.45 a.m and after that we got devided in groups. Monika and I got to go and clean up the green railings in the arena so we got to see Pat playing with Magic and Linda preparing for her Horsenality presentation and we also got to see Mikey play with Pegasus and some other instructors - what a treat!! Just that was worth the trip!
In the afternoon we helped hanging up clothes. In the evening we volonteers had a nice supper at the Hilton, most of us went to bed early.
Saturday we met at 5.30am at the arena and prepared the last things before the growd came. Monika and I worked at the retail and it was super busy. 6000 people attented the Celebration and the air just vibrated with exptectations.
We got to see a little bit of the show, like Linda helping Larissa with her lbi - omg, what an eyeopener for me. Isn´t it funny that I got to see exactly what I needed to see :)). And lucky us we got to see Magic´s swansong, her last good bye in Europe. There was no single eye try in the arena, even the men who volonteered cried. But you know what, it is absolutly ok to cry if you watch Pat and Magic playing together.
Saturday evening we went to the Party at the Hilton, none of us stayed long though because we were so tired. I got to meet Jo finally though which was super fun.
Sunday we met early again and it was super busy all day. In the evening we volonteers got invited to a lovely supper at the arena together with the Parelli team.
There is so much more to write about but I have to think it through a little bit more first.
Summary of the weekend - totally awesomeness!!

At The Hilton Lobby :))

Arrived safe and sound in the UK and met some really nice Parelli people already. I went with a few norwegian girls to Stoneleigh Park to visit the UK office.
Jenny gave us a tour of the office and we got to say to Pat and Linda :)). Then she took us down to show us the stables and the playground. We got to watch the instructors play with their horses and we got to see Magic! I took some pictures of her but can't upload them here. Not that you can see much, it's probably just a little black dot but I swear it's Magic ;).
The environment is thrilling and magical already and the show hasn't even started yet. Surreal.
The Hilton is lovely. The room is nice and I took a short swim in the swimming pool after we came back from Stoneleigh. Indulging really.

Monday Play

10min walk, 10min liberty
While letting Milva eating hay outside and talking to Ulrike on the phone, Drake came bolting through the fence. He was totally scattered and flew by us and Milva followed him for a few meters before starting eating grass. I guess she figured running that fast is way too much work. Luckily Drake stopped too. Catching Milva is never a problem, actually I never have to catch her cause she is always coming up anyway even when she is loose outside so I didn´t worry too much about her. But Drake is still very shy and worried around people but when he laid eyes on my he actually came towards me, wich surprised me. Instead of grabbing his halter I talked to him first, scratched him a bit and offered him a carrot. Of course Milva came up too, how dare I talk to another horse ;). I called the stable owner to let her know one of her horses is outside and walked Drake up to his pasture with no problems, leaving Milva behind on the grass to get her later.
Good pony!

Courses :))

Yesterday a big smiling, anxious stableowner came up to me to tell she has found the "perfect" thing for me. She read about Equine-touch and thought I would be the perfect person for doing it. Hmmm.... Equine-touch sounded very much like the Ttouch from Linda Tellington Jones to me, which I like. I have Linda´s books at home (no surprise there, ey) and used it alot on Tjelvar and on a few horses while I lived in Canada.
Anyway, while at worked I googled some more about it and sent an email to the people who organise the courses in Sweden and signed up for it.
Not enough with that, I also wrote an email to another instition who offers courses in Kraniosakral therapi for horses and will sign up for a course there as soon as I have timed it with work.
I´m very much interested in Kraniosakral since I have read about it in Elisbeth´s and Caroline´s blog.
I also signed up for more distance courses at the univesity - clinical nutrition and clinical psychology and a few more. It will give me a nice boost in my nursing career.
The Equine-touch and Kraniosakral course is just for fun. I have no intention to take customers - except friends horses, quit my job or make a career out of it. I love my job way too much to quit it.
But it´s still going to be useful to broaden my horizon and start looking outside the box and approach things in a different way.
And the most important element is that my little Milvapony will profit a big time of my new skills :).

Cirkuspony In Making

Milva and I spent all week with playing the 7 games while walking outside and finished every day with a little liberty session in the ridinghouse.
I have to figure out something how to make a portable roundcorall inside the ridinghouse so I can film our liberty audition - one day. We actually have a roundcoral at the barn but I don´t like the footing in it.
Every playsession I finished with a spin on the ground at liberty. Today was the 7th day and Milva offered the spin all the time. Yoyo? - spiiin, sideways? - spiiin, backing up from z5 - spiiin, everything was a spin today and she looked really satisfied with herself...lol..
I try to get it on tape next week before I fly to Birmingham.
